These teams are both in interesting positions. Kent State opened the season with a conference game against Ohio. They have a lot of good pieces from that team back, and once again should be a player. The problem I see in this game is that Ohio State is next up for Kent State, while S. Alabama will be hosting an SEC team, a rare event, as a strong Mississippi State team comes to town. That should lead to a lack of focus on both sides, and that usually translates more on the defensive side of the ball as opposed to the offense. I think that there could be some big plays in this game with a fairly low and reachable total. The Jaguars went for 30 points or more in 8 of their last 11 last season, but also surrendered 30 or more in five games.
