Kansas Jayhawks vs UNLV Rebels Point Spread Picks

Barry Odom has done a fantastic job resurrecting a moribund program at UNLV and he is in the running for Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Rebels to a 9-4 record (10-3 ATS) and into the Mountain West Conference title game. The Rebels didn't come through in that game against Boise State, but they have still plenty of motivation for this game as it is their first bowl appearance since 2013 and it's a young squad that wants to use the experience to get better next season. UNLV has covered its past four as underdogs of at least 10.5 points and they are 8-1 ATS as underdogs overall. Kansas is 1-5 ATS as a 10.5-plus favorite and the Jayhawks will be without offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicky who moved on to Penn State. UNLV is led by Jayden Maiava, who threw for 2,626 yards and 14 TDs and led all the FBS freshmen in the country with a .641 completion percentage. Kansas also has been on the upswing under third-year coach Lance Leipold, but it has split its past eight games after losing seven of its last eight games in 2022.
