Wyoming had its best season by far since Craig Bohl's arrival as coach five years ago. The Cowboys finished 8-6 and almost pulled off an outright upset of BYU in the Poinsettia Bowl as a 10-point underdog. Wyoming was 8-4-1 ATS and return star quarterback Josh Allen, who threw for 3,203 yards and 28 touchdowns last year. The Pokes also return eight starters on defense, including a talented and experienced secondary and three on the line. Iowa is just 3-10-1 ATS its last 14 home games and has covered the spread just once it's last five non-conference games. The Hawkeyes ended their season on a downer getting pummeled 30-3 in the Outback Bowl and finished the season 6-6 ATS. The Hawkeyes need to replace quarterback C.J. Beathard and it appears to be sophomore Nathan Stanley, who threw just nine passes as Beathard's backup. Starting Iowa cornerback Manny Rugamba is suspended for this game. Allen is now considered to be one of the top quarterbacks in the country and the Cowboys are getting double digits in this matchup as an underrated Mountain West Conference team against a Big 10 squad. Take advantage and grab the points with Wyoming. Also take the UNDER in this one. Iowa's defense was stout last season, allowing just under 19 points per game. Their offense was very mediocre however at 24.9 per game. Under Kirk Ferentz, this team is 26-14 to the UNDER when favored by 10.5 to 21 points and 34-22 UNDER during the month of September. Both teams are returning only six offensive starters. Take the points and the UNDER.
