Iowa Hawkeyes vs Iowa State Cyclones Point Spread Picks

Iowa State had a six-game losing streak against Iowa from 2015-21, but the Cyclones have bounced back to win two of the past three, including a thrilling 20-19 victory last year when Kyle Konrardy kicked a 54-yard field goal with six seconds left. Iowa State has covered four of its past five games, and it has won seven of eight at home. Five of its past six games against the Big Ten have gone UNDER, and five of the past six meetings have stayed UNDER. The Cyclones demolished South Dakota 55-7 as Rocco Becht picked up where he left off in 2024 when he finished with 3,505 passing yards and 25 TDs. Becht threw for 278 yards and three TDs with no picks against the Coyotes. Gabe Burkle caught four passes for 85 yards and a score for Iowa State. The Cyclones are 5-0 ATS in their past five games after allowing fewer than 275 total yards in their previous game, and they have covered their past four non-conference games. Iowa is 0-4 ATS in its past four non-conference games and 0-5 ATS overall on natural grass. The Hawkeyes ran up 310 yards rushing against Albany, but new QB Mark Gronowski was just eight of 15 for 44 yards and a TD. Take Iowa State and the UNDER. 

Iowa State heads into this rivalry after a 42-10 win over Southeast Missouri State when highly-touted sophomore QB Hunter Dekkers finished 25 of 31 for 293 yards and four touchdowns with one interception for a 142.0 QB rating. Jirehl Brock rushed for 104 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown and Xavier Hutchinson caught eight passes for 128 yards and three TDs. Obviously, the Cyclones have enough offensively to end a six-game losing streak against the Hawkeyes, who eked out a 7-3 win over FCS South Dakota State without scoring a touchdown on Saturday. Iowa managed a field goal and two safeties and Spencer Petras was only 11 of 25 for 109 yards with an interception for a 42.5 QB rating and the game stayed UNDER by 32.5 points. The UNDER is 5-1-1 the past seven meetings, including the last three and Iowa State is 12-3-1 UNDER after scoring at least 40 points its previous game and 13-3-1 UNDER overall versus the Big Ten. Iowa is 42-18-3 UNDER its past 63 September games. The Cyclones are 8-3 ATS after an ATS loss and Iowa is just 2-6-1 ATS its last nine games overall. Take Iowa State and the UNDER.
