Illinois Fighting Illini vs Wyoming Cowboys Point Spread Picks

Illinois went UNDER eight games in a row before finally going OVER in its final two games last year, and the Fighting Illini returns only seven starters on offense. The Illini have a new offensive coordinator in Barry Lunney, Jr. after finishing 122nd in the country in passing, but the running game will still be the focus as usual for a Bret Bielema coached team with Chase Brown and Josh McCray leading the way. The starting quarterback will be either Syracuse transfer Tommy DeVito or Artur Sitkowski, and Bielema doesn't plan to announce it until game day. Sitkowski was a backup option before he got injured, and DeVito went 32 of 52 for 388 yards with one TD and two interceptions for the Orange in 2021. Wyoming returns only four offensive starters, and Utah State transfer Andrew Peasley expects to be the starting QB after completing 28 of 51 for 415 yards with three TDs and two picks for the Aggies last season. As with Illinois, the Cowboys will have a run-first philosophy as they lost star wide receiver Isaiah Neyor to Texas. Illinois is 14-5 UNDER in its past 19 non-conference games, and the Illini have stayed UNDER in four of their last five home games overall.
