Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs Wyoming Cowboys Point Spread Picks

Hawaii has an excellent quarterback in junior Brayden Schager (24 TDs, 12 INTs) with plenty of good targets to throw to. Hawaii comes off victories over Nevada (27-14) and Air Force (27-13) as underdogs each time. They were a 20-point dog last week but upset Air Force as Schager threw a pair of TDs, ran for another, and the defense forced four turnovers. Wyoming had a good start to the season but is wilting losing three of four. That included blowout losses to Boise State and UNLV along with a 34-27 loss to Air Force. The offense is 96th in the nation on third down (34.82%) while the defense is allowing 27 points per contest. The visitors have more than enough to keep their winning streak going and pull the upset. Take Hawaii on the moneyline. 

These teams have a wide range of how their games are played. Wyoming is great against a poor offense, and Hawaii is awful against a good defense. Wyoming has held poor offenses in four games to an average of 14 points or fewer. Hawaii against a team that can defend has scored 17 points or fewer in five games. It looks fairly clear that this has a 14-point or so offensive out-put for Hawaii at best. Hawaii is allowing opponents to generate 435 yards per game leading to 34.5 ppg on the season. I think this looks more like a 20-point game than an 11 or 12-point game. Hawaii has already allowed 45 points or more to four teams, including 63 vs Vanderbilt. I don't think this game is very competitive. Make the ply on Wyoming. Also back the UNDER. Wyoming's defense has been improving as the season progresses. They have allowed just 18.8 points per game to conference foes. Sure, they gave up 38 on the road to BYU and Illinois, but the Cowboys were severely overmatched in those games. In their three games as chalk, Wyoming has allowed 10, 14 and 14. When getting points this season, the Rainbow Warriors have scored 10, 17, 10, 26, 14, 31 and 13. They are unlikely to put up much offense in this game. Wyoming is 29-14 to the UNDER in their last 43 games after allowing 14 or fewer points last game. They are also 14-4 UNDER in their last 18 games following back-to-back games allowing 17 or fewer points. Hawaii is 14-5 UNDER in their last 19 conference games and 10-1 UNDER followign a game in which they committed fewer than two turnovers. The last three meetings have stayed UNDER, including a 31-7 Wyoming victory last season that went UNDER by 22 points. Wyoming has gone UNDER five of its last eight this season while Hawaii is 6-3 UNDER its last nine games. The Rainbow Warriors had scored a total of only 23 points its previous two games before exploding for 50 in their win over Colorado State. They'll face a tougher defense this week as the Cowboys allow 21.1 points per game and are #28 in the country in total yards allowed and #4 in pass defense. Wyoming racked up 363 rushing yards on 47 carries with a time-consuming offense against Utah State and Levi Williams passed only 15 times and completed 12 with two TDs and an interception. The UNDER is 7-0 in Hawaii's past seven games following an ATS win and the Rainbow Warriors are 8-2 UNDER their last 10 conference games.
