Vanderbilt is still struggling to get back to the success of the James Franklin years, and it doesn't figure to get much better in 2022 after the Commodores finished 2-10 last year while averaging only 15.8 points per game after averaging 15 and 17 points the previous two years. Vandy returns seven starters from that offense, and it went UNDER in five of its last seven games. Mike Wright has been named the starter at quarterback, and he completed 53.1% of his passes last season for 1,042 yards with eight touchdowns and six interceptions behind a weak offensive line. Second-year coach Clark Lea is trying to recruit better athletes, but he has a long way to go before the Commodores can compete in the SEC. Hawaii comes off of a 6-7 season and returns just four offensive starters as many others transferred out of the program in protest of former coach Todd Graham. Former Hawaii QB Timmy Chang takes over a team that had to withdraw from the Hawaii Bowl due to a lack of available players. Vanderbilt has stayed UNDER in five of seven non-conference games and also in five of their last six road games. The Hawaii offense will need some time to get used to a new coach, especially with mostly transfers and questionable talent. Take the UNDER.
