Georgia State Panthers vs Wisconsin Badgers Point Spread Picks

The Wisconsin Badgers have an extremely difficult schedule. They have already played and beaten LSU, and smothered a helpless Akron team last week. This game is a perfect look ahead, letdown spot as the Badgers fate will not be sealed in this one, but with what lies ahead. The Badgers, after this scrimmage with Georgia State, will play Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, and Nebraska in their next five contests. I can hardly see them putting much energy into this one at all. Last year they faced a similar sequence, obliterating Miami, Oh., 58-0, and came back the next week with a sleepy 28-3 win over Troy, and I can see a similar result here. Georgia State is certainly new to the FBS scene. This is just their fourth year, and after a colossal struggle the first two years, finishing a combined 1-21 SU, they rose to becoming a Bowl team a year ago. They now have three FBS recruiting seasons under their belt and should be a stable program going forward. The schedule is not designed to win early, and they will likely start 0-4, but the rest of the schedule, and valuable experience playing "up," should help them. I see them hanging inside the gaudy number here, while Wisconsin waltzes through this one, knowing they have five very difficult games in sequence coming up. Make the play on Georgia State.
