Georgia Bulldogs vs Tennessee Volunteers Point Spread Picks

Georgia plays its first road game here, and the Bulldogs didn't exactly set the world on fire last week. They were a 45-point favorite over Austin Peay and won 28-6. They lost a lot of starters from 2024 and have a new starting quarterback in Gunner Stockton. Georgia is on a 3-12 ATS run. Tennessee plays its second straight at home after wins over Syracuse (45-26) and East Tennessee State (72-17). QB Joey Aguilar (5 TDs, no picks) is playing well, while the ground attack has amassed 505 yards (5.7 ypc). Tennessee is on an 11-6 ATS run. Play Tennessee. 

No. 7 Tennessee is tied with Texas A&M atop the SEC with 5-1 records. The offense has a powerful one-two punch in QB Nico Iamaleava (11 TDs, 4 INTs) and RB Dylan Sampson (1,129 yards, 5.6 ypc). Iamaleava is questionable in concussion protocol but senior QB Gaston Moore has thrown for 201 yards completing 64% of his passes. The defense ranks seventh in the nation in yards allowed, fifth in points given up (13.8 per game), and third on third down (26.36%). Tennessee is 3-0 SU/ATS against Top 20 competition this season knocking off No. 24 NC State (51-10), No. 15 Oklahoma (25-15), and No. 7 Alabama (24-17). Georgia QB Carson Beck (17 TDs, 12 INTs) has two touchdowns and seven interceptions in his last three games. Georgia just moved to No. 1 with plenty of motivation to stay there by whipping rival Tennessee. Georgia has faced three other Top 20 teams and thrashed Kentucky (51-13), Missouri (30-21), and Ole Miss (52-17) - the last two in the last two games. The Bulldogs average 5.3 yards per rush and QB Carson Beck (18 TDs, 5 INTs) has been sacked just 8 times. The offense is sixth in points scored (39.8 per game) and No. 1 on third down (56.76%), while the defense is eighth in yards allowed and seventh in points given up (16.6 per game). Georgia is 84-53 ATS on the road against winning squads and 33-14 ATS on the road versus teams that average 200+ yards rushing. No. 18 Tennessee's defense is No. 56 on third down (38.41%). The Vols have stepped up twice to face Top 20 teams and flopped, losing to No. 11 Alabama (34-20) and to No. 14 Missouri (36-7). The loss to Mizzou was last week allowing 530 yards (255 rushing). Tennessee's dream season continues and the Volunteers suffered no letdowns after their huge win over Alabama. They clobbered their next two opponents by an average of nearly 40 points, including 44-6 against Kentucky last week. Jalin Hyatt caught five passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns and Hendon Hooker went 19-for-25 for 245 yards and three TDs with no interceptions. Will Levis, rated one of the top QBs in the country, was held to 16 of 27 for 98 yards and no TDs with three interceptions. Tennessee is #2 in the country with 353.4 passing yards per game while averaging 49.4 points and the Volunteers are holding opponents to 21.0 points per contest. Tennessee is 7-1 ATS this season compared to 4-4 ATS for Georgia, which beat Florida 42-20 although the Gators scored 17 straight third-quarter points to close within 28-20 at one point. The Bulldogs haven't had many tough opponents since their opening rout against Oregon and they were fortunate to edge Missouri 26-22 in early October. Also, Georgia will be without one of its top edge rushers as Nolan Smith is out for the season with an upper-body injury suffered last week.
