Fresno State is making its fifth consecutive bowl appearance here in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl. The Bulldogs impressively defeated Mountain West Conference champion Boise State, 30-7, on the road. Miami of Ohio doesn't have a significant victory like that. The Redhawks beat Lindenwood, Northern Illinois, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Buffalo, and Ball State. They lost to Wisconsin, Rutgers, UNLV, Ohio, Toledo, and Western Michigan. It should be noted that UNLV lost twice to Boise State and that Wisconsin and Rutgers each went 2-7 in the Big Ten. Fresno State has the better defense, holding foes to 20.1 points and ranking 14th in fewest yards allowed. QB Dequan Finn left Miami of Ohio in early November. Neither Henry Hesson nor Thomas Gotkowski has looked impressive replacing Finn. The Bulldogs can exploit that ranking fifth in takeaways with 19. The Redhawks also won't have Kam Perry, their most dangerous receiver, and Adam Trick, who leads them with 8.5 sacks. Take Fresno State.
