Florida State Seminoles vs South Florida Bulls Point Spread Picks

There are two camps to be in regarding Florida St. this week. They are gonna be in the tank after their humiliation vs Louisville, or they are going to be a distrubed hornet's nest and foaming at the mouth for this game. I side with the latter. It isn't often this team is on the short side of a blowout, but when they have been, they come roaring back in their next game. Overall, the Noles are 55-33 ATS since 1980 off a loss, and off a blowout loss of more than 17 points they are even better at 16-5 ATS. Needless to say, they will be bringing the "A" game against South Florida. The Bulls have one of their best offenses in a long time, but they have not met the size, speed, and depth that Florida St. brings to this game, and their early season advantage of playing home in the hot Florida September sun, may in fact work against them, as Florida St. is certainly no stranger to these conditions, and are a much deeper team. Last week's debacle has kept the line in check here, but I see the Noles rolling here. Make the play on Florida St.

Pity South Florida. South Florida opened the season at home and now plays two in a row against the ACC and the Big 10. The Bulls are 8-21-1 ATS in non-conference games, plus 10-23-1 ATS on natural grass. South Florida has yet to enjoy much success in the American Athletic Conference under third-year coach Willie Taggart. They've brought in a new offensive playbook for this season and Taggart has used five different starting quarterbacks in two seasons. The Bulls are 7-19 ATS after a spread cover and 1-4 ATS against the ACC. That offense won't move the football on this powerhouse Florida State defense and the Bulls are on a 21-8 run UNDER the total, including 10-3 UNDER on the road. Florida State returns only three starters on offense, but seven on a talented defense. Four new starters are on Florida State's offensive line. They come off a 59-16 rout of Texas State and have another easy one here. Florida State is 8-1 UNDER the total at home, as well as 17-8 UNDER in non-conference games. This is the second straight home game for the Seminoles and this shapes up as another one-sided rout with the defense leading the way (they are 11-4 UNDER the total on natural grass).
