Many will view this UConn team that was getting crushed in the air improved, as they have held down their last two opponents on the scoreboard. Those games vs. Temple, and Tulsa were well suited for UConn, as the QBs are not very adept at picking apart any defense. That changes in this one, as Missouri can move the ball as well as any team in the country through the air. While the Tigers defense has had its struggles, I don't see many stops here for the UConn back seven. While Missouri may be a weaker Power-5 Conference team, the speed, depth, and quality of athlete is way ahead of what UConn can put on the field. The Huskies have limited depth and quality in the secondary. I think Missouri is capable of over 500 yards in the air, and will be scoring fast and often. Play on Missouri.

The UConn Huskies football program has been very poor since the departure of coach Randy Edsel to Maryland. Bob Diaco is now in his second year, and trouble continues to lurk, as the Huskies offense just doesn't look very good. They narrowly escaped vs. Villanova at home by 5 points and duplicated the 5-point win at home vs. an Army team that had allowed 33 points or more to just about every road opponent the past few years, and the Huskies managed just 22. The Huskies have topped the 22-point mark just one time in their last 14 games, and Missouri is a rather large step up in class as opposed to most of those opponents. Missouri has allowed 23 points in two games, and finished last season holding their last three SEC opponents at home to 14 points or less. UConn will struggle to find the scoreboard, while the Tigers are 11-6-1 ATS scoring an average of 39.2 points per game in their last 18 vs. non conference opponents. Play on Missouri.
