Colorado State Rams vs Oregon State Beavers Point Spread Picks

The Colorado St. Rams have not been much of an offensive teams over the past seven seasons, as they are 42-25-1 to the UNDER. This season looks no different. The Rams are 3-0 UNDER this season vs. three FBS opponents and they are averaging a woeful 12 PPG. Oregon State has not exactly lit up the scoreboard either. The Beavers have averaged just 24 PPG against three FBS opponents, and outside of the game vs. an explosive Oregon team, they are allowing 12 PPG in their other three contests. It certainly looks like both these teams have done their part defensively, and that leaves both offenses as the weakest units on the field. I like the UNDER in this one.

The Oregon State Beavers have a lot of question marks off of a 4-8 season in 2016. That has left the Beavers at 6-18 over the last two years. What is worse for this team is the fact that they are now 0-13 on the road going back to late 2013. They have a lot to overcome, especially offensively where the 13 road games show them scoring an average of just 18.1 points per game. The Beavers did take 6.5 ppg off the opponents scoreboard last year vs. 2015. The Rams had a productive offense last year, and are pretty capable with a lot of key returning skill players. However, the biggest question mark is the offensive line that is for the most part going to be rebuilt, and it may take time to get things going. The Rams are stepping up in class with a revamped offensive line, and their last three vs. Pac-12 teams shows fewer than 14 ppg. They surely should exceed that here, but with Oregon State having few offensive answers, and Colorado State not as productive when stepping up in class, I'm playing the UNDER in this one.
