Colorado State Rams vs New Mexico Lobos Point Spread Picks

Colorado State plays its third game under interim coach Tyson Summers. They're a big underdog but have won 13 straight against New Mexico. Sophomore QB Jackson Brousseau (7 TDs, 3 INTs) has played well as the new starter and has helped with RBs Jalen Dupree (508 yards, 5.0 ypc) and Lloyd Avant (356 yards, 5.4 ypc). Last year, Colorado State beat the Lobos, 17-6, rushing for 192 yards, while winning the turnover battle, 4-0. Colorado State is on a 4-3 ATS run on the road. New Mexico QBs Jack Layne and James Laubstein have combined for 14 TDs and nine picks. They've been a double-digit favorite three times this season, going 1-2 ATS, and are 2-4 ATS in their last six as a favorite. Play Colorado State. 

We're getting a high total on this one, as New Mexico has won three in a row scoring 50, 52, and 50 points. However, QB Devon Dampier has as many interceptions (9) as touchdowns. They face a very good Colorado State defense that has allowed an average of 18.5 points in its two Mountain West games. They will look to run the football to control the clock behind RBs Avery Morrow (622 yards, 6.5 ypc) and Justin Marshall (336 yards, 4.2 ypc) as sophomore QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has six TDs and five picks. The last two meetings have easily gone UNDER, including a 20-18 Colorado State win last year that went UNDER by 24.5 points. The Rams have stayed UNDER their last two games this year, following Saturday's 24-10 loss to San Diego State, which went UNDER by 14 points and the Rams had only 235 total offense yards while holding the Aztecs to 238. Colorado State rushed 25 times and gained just 18 net yards for 0.7 yards per carry. CSU quarterback Patrick O'Brien does not have good stats to say the least as he has a 59.3 percent completion rate with three touchdown passes and two interceptions in five games this season. Only one team has more turnovers than the Rams' 16, including 10 lost fumbles and six picks. O'Brien may lose his job this week to redshirt sophomore Justice McCoy. New Mexico has stayed way UNDER its last two games and both were losses at Liberty and San Jose State. The Lobos went UNDER by 45 against the Flames and 17 against the Spartans. New Mexico's normally prolific running game has not produced the points that it used to and the Lobos are 7-2 UNDER their last nine October games.
