Cincinnati Bearcats vs Marshall Thundering Herd Point Spread Picks

Cincinnati got clobbered by Ohio State, but won its other two games with outstanding defense. They shut down UCLA in a 24-14 victory and held Miami-Ohio to 13 points. The Bearcats are averging just 19.7 points per game this season. Cincinnati is on a 7-3 run UNDER the total, including 7-1 UNDER on the road. The Bearcats are also 13-5-1 UNDER the total in non-conference games, plus 44-25 UNDER against defenses that allow a completion percentage of 58% or higher. Marshall comes off a 21-0 whitewashing of Kent State in a game that went UNDER by 29 points and the Golden Flashes were held to 259 total offensive yards. Chase Litton was 23-of-43 for 223 yards and a touchdown for the Thundering Herd and Tyler King ran for 101 yards on 14 carries. Cincinnati is playing its first home game against an FBS opponent in Luke Fickell's first year as coach. The Bearcats averaged only 19 points last year on offense and lost seven of their last eight games. Cincy managed only 2.5 yards per carry in its loss to Navy last week, but quarterback Hayden Moore finished 28-of-46 for 381 yards and three touchdowns. However, the Bearcats were overwhelmed by Navy's option, which produced 569 rushing yards. Marshall is 21-7-1 ATS its last 29 non-conference games and Cincinnati has covered the number just four of its last 14 games and just once over its last 10 home contests.
