Louisville vs. Cincinnati

December 17, 2022
img11:00 AM Eastern

This is an interesting matchup as the new coach of Cincinnati will be Scott Satterfield, who just left Louisville, but he will not be coaching in this game for obvious reasons and interim head coach Kerry Coombs will be in charge for the Bearcats after Luke Fickell left for Wisconsin. The Bearcats will be led by QB Evan Prater, who took over after Ben Bryant was lost for the season with an injury. Prater looks to bounce back from a 27-24 loss to Tulane in the season's final regular-season game when he threw for just 102 yards with no touchdowns although Cincinnati did rush for 235 yards on 43 carries. The Bearcats' defense is #23 in the country in total yards allowed and #17 in pass defense. Jeff Brohm will be the new head coach for the Cardinals, but won't be on the sidelines for the Fenway Bowl. Louisville lost two of its last three games while showing little offense and averaging only 18 points per game. The Cardinals lost 26-13 to Kentucky in the season's final game. Cincinnati is 5-2 ATS its past seven following a loss and Louisville is 2-6 ATS at neutral-site games. The Cardinals lost 31-28 to Air Force in last year's First Responder Bowl. The Bearcats won nine of their last 11 after an opening loss at Arkansas. Louisville will be without star QB Malik Cunningham who opted out after declaring for the NFL Draft. Take Cincinnati as a Max Play

Cincinnati at Louisville

October 15, 2010
img8:00 PM Eastern

The Cincinnati Bearcats were ranked to start the season, but have played nothing like a ranked team. It's obviously they were vastly overrated coming into the season. They beat up on Indiana State (missing the cover as a 45-point favorite). The Bearcats also delivered a blowout to Miami, Ohio. But they could not find the win column in their other three games. Louisville has been better than advertised this season. They lost the two games they were supposed to lose, but were in both of them. They went on the road vs. Oregon State as a three touchdown underdog but lost by just 7 points. They outgained the Beavers in that game by 134 yards, done in by a -2 turnover margin. They have great balance with Adam Froman throwing for 1,177 yards at 8.5 yards per pass, and running behind Bilal Powell who already has churned out 689 yards at 7.6 yards a carry and 7 TDs. The Bearcats haven't been covering much of anything of late at just 2-8 ATS in their last 10. The Cards’ success running the ball has bred even more success as they are 23-10 ATS after running for over 200 yards in their last game. Cincinnati is 0-2 SU and ATS on the road and they are facing a Louisville team that has shown they can play. I like the home dog here.
