Central Michigan Chippewas vs Wyoming Cowboys Point Spread Picks

Neither offense has found a rhythm in two weeks. Wyoming is averaging just 17 points a game, and Central Michigan is even worse at 10, still working through a quarterback rotation that hasn't settled on a clear starter. That's exactly why this total sits so low. But both defenses have been just as shaky as the offenses in front of them, each allowing 24 points a game, which means neither side has actually proven it can keep the other off the scoreboard, only that neither offense has found a way to take advantage yet. Wyoming quarterback Tyler Hughes already rallied his team from behind against Northern Colorado two weeks ago, proof the offense can move when it needs to, and Central Michigan's shuffling quarterback situation has at least produced flashes, including a long touchdown run in last week's win over Colgate. When two generous defenses meet two offenses still searching for consistency, the low number on the board looks more like uncertainty than a true scoring ceiling. Give me the OVER.

FAMOUS IDAHO POTATO BOWL - Central Michigan has been in a bowl game the last three years and lost all three, including 55-10 against Tulsa last season. The Chippewas step up in class against against Wyoming of the Mountain West Conference and the game is rated near even due to the current status of Cowboy quarterback Josh Allen, who missed the last two games with a shoulder injury and will probably be a game-time decision in this one.  However, backup QB Nick Smith completed 20-of-32 passes against Fresno State for 231 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and he completed 17-of-37 for 171 yards against San Jose State. Central Michigan started the season 3-4 and then won its final five conference games. CMU QB Shane Morris has completed 55.5 percent of his passes for 2,908 yards with 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions and Jonathan Ward averages 5.9 yards per rush with nine touchdowns. Wyoming is 10-2 UNDER this season, including its last six in a row, and 12-2 UNDER dating to last season. Central Michigan has stayed UNDER five of its last seven neutral site games and four of its last five non-conference contests. Wyoming is #12 in the country allowing only 17.8 points per game.
