Central Florida Knights vs NC State Wolfpack Point Spread Picks

This was supposed to be a tough year for Central Florida after the departure of NFL QB Blake Bortles. Bortles led the Bearcats to a 12-1 record last year, with the only loss by three points to South Carolina. This year it wasn't the offense that carried this team, it was the defense, and the Knights finished at a surprising 9-3. This is a team that held seven opponents to 14 points or less on the season. NC State proved to be a big scorer early in the season when they topped the 40 point mark in four straight games, but only did so one time in their last seven, and that was vs. lowly Wake Forest. NC State in fact struggled over a three week period when they faced three big defensive teams in Clemson, Louisville, and Boston College. The Wolfpack managed just 32 points in the three games at less than 11 a contest, and they will see a similar force in their Bowl game vs. Central Florida. The Wolfpack has produced a 5-0 mark to the UNDER in their last five after throwing for less than 170 yards in their last game, and Central Florida has pitched four straight UNDERs vs. the ACC.
