GASPARILLA BOWL - Central Florida came on strong and finished the season winning five of its last six games, and it has a lot of momentum coming into the bowl game as opposed to Florida, which has already fired coach Dan Mullen and hired Billy Napier, who won't coach in this game as Greg Knox will coach one more game as the interim. The Knights' defense has been a major factor in their late-season push as they have allowed more than 17 points just once in their last six games. UCF's defensive stats are comparable to the Gators' while being #54 in total yards allowed (Florida is #46). Mikey Keene has thrown for 1,586 yards with 16 TDs and six interceptions and wasn't picked off in his final four games. Keene is a true freshman who took over the QB duties when Dillon Gabriel was injured in September. Dillon has since made the decision to enter the transfer portal. Florida QB Anthony Richardson is expected to miss the game after minor knee surgery. His replacement, Emory Jones, threw two interceptions and leads the SEC with 13 picks, and he will probably also transfer after the season.
