Boston College has the obvious home-field advantage in the Fenway Bowl and SMU will be playing a backup quarterback after Preston Stone broke a leg in the game against Navy on Nov. 25. Kevin Jennings finished that game and then started against Tulane in the American Athletic Association championship game and he completed 19 of 33 for 203 yards and a touchdown, but threw two interceptions. Thomas Castellanos is the Eagles' quarterback and he has thrown for 2,168 yards and 15 TDs this season and they will need a big game from him as the running back situation has been depleted due to the transfer portal. Castellanos likely will depend on short quick passes against a good SMU pass rush. SMU was hoping to play in a more impressive bowl after winning its conference championship and in warmer weather so the motivation edge goes to Boston College in this matchup.
