The Minutemen shouldn't get too giddy though as they travel to Auburn to face the Tigers and their new coach Hugh Freeze, who likes to run up scores against inferior opponents. Robby Ashford threw for 1,613 yards and seven TDs and seven picks for the Tigers in 2022, but it appears Michigan State transfer Payton Thorne has emerged as the starting QB and Ashford is uncertain with an oblique strain. The offensive line is experienced and the Tigers have plenty of talent at running back.
