Arkansas Razorbacks vs LSU Tigers Point Spread Picks

Two teams with interim coaches face off on Saturday, and Frank Wilson plans to start quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and backup Michael Van Buren Jr. against the Razorbacks. Nussmeier was benched for Van Buren in the third quarter in the Tigers' 20-9 loss to Alabama. However, Van Buren finished just 5-for-11 for 52 yards with two sacks. Arkansas had a better showing and was ahead of Mississippi State 28-21 after three quarters, but it was outscored 17-7 and ultimately lost 38-35. However, Arkansas outgained the Bulldogs 433-388, but was penalized 18 times for 193 yards. If they can cut down on those miscues, the Razorbacks can keep this game close, and QB Taylen Green is expected to play after being hurt on the final offensive snap against Mississippi State. Green threw for 194 yards and a TD with no interceptions. LSU has lost three games in a row, being outscored 100-58. The Tigers managed only 59 yards rushing on 2.27 yards per carry against Alabama. The Tigers are 1-6 ATS following a loss. Arkansas is 16-4-1 ATS in its past 21 games playing on natural grass. Take Arkansas. 

LSU has won six of the past seven meetings and the last three have gone UNDER by an average of a whopping 29.8 points and that includes an overtime contest. The Tigers beat the Razorbacks 13-10 last year and LSU comes off a 41-14 win over Mississippi State, which was held to only 201 total yards of offense, including just 107 passing yards. Meanwhile, LSU racked up 521 yards with Jayden Daniels completing 30 of 34 for 361 yards and two TDs with no picks. Daniels also was the Tigers' leading rusher with 64 yards on 15 carries. Arkansas had its first true test of the season last week against BYU and it lost at home 38-31 although QB KJ Jefferson threw for 247 yards and a TD with an interception. The Razorbacks are 1-7 ATS as road dogs of 10-plus points off a non-conference game and the Tigers have covered five straight as favorites of at least 10.5 points. LSU coach Brian Kelly is 12-3 UNDER in his career after winning by at least 21 points against a conference rival. Take LSU and the UNDER.

LSU is in first place in the SEC West with a defense that is No. 34 in the nation in points surrendered (22.9 ppg) and No. 43 in total yards allowed. They've won both of their road games allowing an average of 26 points. Coach Brian Kelly is a proponent of physical defenses and is 92-65 UNDER the total after a victory, as well as 21-6 UNDER after allowing 325+ passing yards. Arkansas has averaged just 22 points in its last three home games as they come off a 21-19 home loss to Liberty. The UNDER has cashed in four of the last five meetings between these rivals, including the last two years by scores of 16-13 and 27-24. The UNDER is also 5-1 in the last six meetings on this field.
