Arkansas Razorbacks vs Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

Louisiana Tech isn't going to be able to control the football against this SEC opponent. The ground game averages just 2.9 yards per carry. At least La-Tech has found a good quarterback in freshman Evan Bullock (12 TDs, 2 INTs). They went OVER the total when they stepped up to face NC State earlier this season, a 30-20 loss allowing 151 yards rushing. The Arkansas offense will be delighted to face this defense after playing five of the last six against top 25 opponents. The offense has RB Ja'Quinden Jackson (648 yards, 5.6 ypc) and mobile QB Taylen Green (11 TDs, 8 INTs, 2,363 passing yards and 407 rushing yards). The Razorbacks have one of the worst pass defenses in the country, ranked 121st allowing 271.9 passing yards per game. Arkansas is on a 23-11-1 run OVER the total. Take Louisiana Tech/Arkansas OVER the total. 

Louisiana Tech broke through to put together consecutive nine win seasons for the first time in school history. Coming back for a third is going to be nearly impossible. Tech caught lightning in a bottle when Florida QB transfer decided to come to LA Tech. He led a potent offense that also included RB Kenneth Dixon. The defense was anchored by first round Carolina draft pick DT Vernon Butler. The trio of NFL draftees, leaves this team with a ton of leadership voids, diminished talent and experience. They are in serious need of an inexperienced QB to step up, with inexperienced backs. Compounding the problem is a defense that lost eight starters, and a lot of voids to fill. This team will have a chance o improve, and fare well in C-USA, but taking to the road in game one vs. a stacked Arkansas team is going to be problematic. Tech is just 19-98 SU on the road in their last 117, and 0-14 SU vs the SEC and 4-10 ATS, when a road dog of 20. Arkansas is loaded, and don't discount Bret Bielema. Remember it took him three years to turn Wisconsin into a Rose Bowl team, and his first three in Arkansas have seen improvements every year, from three wins, to seven, and eight last year where they finished 7-1. Remember that this team had an impossible four SEC road games a year ago at LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Bielema's squad was more than up to the challenge, winning three of the four. Tech is in trouble, as they are going to have to run, and the best part of the Arkansas defense is the front sevn. Arkansas is 51-3 SU at home in non conference games, including 44-0 SU since 1997, if not facing a power conference team. This one should be a monster blowout by Arkansas. Lay the points on Arkansas.
