Arizona State Sun Devils vs West Virginia Mountaineers Point Spread Picks

CACTUS BOWL: This one is just 10 miles off the Arizona State campus, so there will certainly be a great deal of support behind the Sun Devils, and they may need it. Arizona State had just a 1.3 points per game scoring margin on the season. They suffered four losses of 14, 16, 21, and 28 points, and have not had a very strong season at 6-6. West Virginia has been buried under the big offenses in the Big-12 of TCU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Baylor all season. They went through a grueling five game stretch where they played all five of those teams in a row, and that is where four of their five losses occurred. They are otherwise one point from being 7-0 in their other eight games. Clearly, Arizona State does not measure up to those teams. Here is the real eye opener: West Virginia allows 10.4 ppg in the other seven games. I think the Mountaineers have a lot of hidden value in this game as you can see from the numbers as their defense is as good as anyone's, but just was not up to the task vs. the "super offenses" of the Big-12. Take West Virginia.
