The Missouri Tigers really struggled in their opener as they beat Miami Ohio by just a 17-6 score. Those numbers are a bit misleading because Miami outgained the Tigers, and had the first down edge as well 19-15. As expected, Arizona State dominated UC Davis 48-14, but was not dominating enough to take down a huge pointspread number and failed to get the cover. I think we will see a different Missouri offense in this one as they have returned nine starters on offense and facing a BCS opponent will get the juices flowing. Missouri was very good last year on defense, and has a pair of defensive ends in Jacques Smith and Brad Madison that combined for 13 sacks a year ago. With Arizona State breaking in a new QB, he should be under pressure all night. The Tigers are quick starters at 11-5 ATS in their last 16 September tilts, and 4-1 ATS after allowing 20 points or less. The Sun Devils have been sour in this spot at 2-8 ATS in their last 10 posted as a favorite of 3.5-10, with seven of those losses coming at home. Play Missouri in this one.
