Georgia State has bounced back from an 0-4 start to win and cover its last two games, including 41-33 over Georgia Southern before having a bye week. The Panthers totaled 335 rushing yards against the Eagles, including 129 on 8.1 yards per carry by Jamyest Williams and 111 on 22 carries by Tucker Gregg. Dual-threat QB Darren Grainger passed for 186 yards and ran for 70. This is a revenge game for Georgia State as it lost 45-16 to Appalachian State in 2021 and it returns 15 starters from that team. The Mountaineers had a huge win against Texas A&M early in the season, but they are just 2-2 since with losses to James Madison and Texas State and the Mountaineers couldn't run against the Bobcats gaining only 41 yards on 21 carries. However, Chase Brice completed 40 of 53 for 395 yards and three TDs with an interception in a losing effort and Texas State had a 30-3 lead at one point. The Panthers have stayed UNDER four of their past five after scoring at least 40 points their previous game and Appalachian State is 10-4 UNDER its past 14 versus teams with losing records.
