Alabama Crimson Tide vs Missouri Tigers Point Spread Picks

It seems like Alabama has had big games all season, and this one at Missouri may be the toughest of all. This game should be a battle for field position. Alabama, as usual, has a strong defense, which has lifted the Alabama offense, giving it more opportunities to score. Missouri is off to a 5-0 start, and its defense is superb, one of the best in the country. The Tigers have held three of their opponents to less than 20 yards rushing. They are also allowing fewer than 15 PPG, and the Tide defense is almost just as lethal. I think this is a field possession game, won or lost on the respective kickers. Missouri is on a 13-5 spread run, including 6-1 ATS on the road. Alabama has split its last four games decided by 7, 5, 2, and 7 points. They lost to Vanderbilt, 40-35, and come off a 24-17 loss to Tennessee turning it over twice while getting just 314 total yards, including 75 rushing yards (2.2 ypc). The defense allowed the Vols to run for 214 yards. Alabama has failed to cover six of its last 10 and the Tigers have more than enough to make this a close one. Play Missouri. 

Once again the Alabama Crimson Tide are on top of the world of CFB. They seem to lose key players and stars as new ones emerge and right now are the #1 ranked team for the National Championship. One thing has changed, however. The margin for error with this team has shrunk considerably. The Tide has had four wins by 10 points or less this season as well as a loss, and you have to believe that Missouri can surely become the fifth. The Tigers seemed to be getting in over their heads in the SEC, but all they have done is marched to the title in the SEC East two years in a row. They don't get the respect they deserve, but regardless of what anyone thinks, you can't knock a team for winning the SEC East twice in a row. The Tigers are a lot more limited on offense than they were last season, but the defense has carried this team all season long. The Tigers own an impressive 13-3 ATS mark in their last 16 vs. a winning team, while Alabama is 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 after allowing more than 450 yards in their previoous game.
