Air Force has played only one game this season and it was a blowout, 40-7 win over Navy as Timothy Jackson and Brad Roberts both rushed for more than 100 yards to account for most of the Falcons' 369 yards on the ground. San Jose State will be playing its first game of the year, and the Spartans are expected to improve after finishing 5-7, but they'll have to replace quarterback Josh Love, who was the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year. The two candidates are Nick Starkel, who made 10 starts at Texas A&M, and Arkansas and sophomore Nick Nash, who is a dual-threat QB and appeared in six games last year, but none as a starting quarterback. Air Force beat the Spartans 41-24 in 2019 and the Falcons have covered 19 of their last 26 games after winning by at least 20 points their previous game.
