The final pieces to the puzzle will unfold today as Texas Tech or Villanova will punch their ticket to the Final Four. Villanova has had a great season, and Texas Tech at 26-9 was considered the best team in the Big-12 until they went into a four-game tailspin late in the season, including a stretch of five losses in six games. Three of those five losses were by three points or less. Otherwise, we are looking at this Texas Tech team differently at 25-4 outside of that six-game slump, and the line would be much different as well. Villanova lost just four games on the season. The way to beat Villanova is to limit their 3-point shooting. The four Wildcats losses saw them shoot 27.6% combined from deep, and Texas Tech allows just 30%. Tech is great defensively and should be able to shorten the game, and get some easy hoops inside as they have gone 66-128 (51.6%) inside the 3-point line in their three tournament games.
