The UMKC Kangaroos opened the season in disappointing fashion as they got off to a slow 1-4 start, but have notched the win in each of their last two. They take to the road tonight feeling pretty good about themselves. Fort Wayne has lost to a pair of heavyweights, beaten a non-Div-1 team, and bested Nebraska, Omaha, so the jury is still out here for them to cover nearly doubles in this one. The Mastodon's have a new coach and a new backcourt from a successful campaign a year ago, which isn’t the ingredients for early season success. The Kangaroos are coming off their first winning season since '05 and have a nice JUCO infusion, as well as three players that either transferred in or were injured a year ago to maintain success. The Mastodon’s certainly don't have a big home-court advantage at just 3-8 ATS in their last 11. Neither team should be a factor in the Summit Conference, so asking a mediocre team with a new coach and backcourt to cover a good size number at home is simply too much to ask. Take UMKC in this one.
