N.C. State fans are optimistic with a new head coach in Will Wade after the Wolfpack stumbled to a 12-19 record last season. However, only one player who played significant minutes returns from last year's squad. Wade's former teams were known for playing pressure defense, and that will be important as the Wolfpack were one of the worst shooting teams in the ACC in 2024-25, averaging 69.6 points. He hopes the recruits and transfers can improve in that department. N.C. State had no problem with N.C. Central on Monday, shooting 58 percent and hitting 19 of 40 3-pointers while winning 114-66. That certainly inflated the posted total for this game, although UAB will present a much tougher test. The Blazers held Mississippi Valley State to 55 points and a microscopic 29 percent shooting in their season opener. Michael James scored 25 points, and no other player was in double figures for the Delta Devils. The Wolfpack are 8-0 UNDER against teams that scored at least 100 points in their previous game. The Blazers are 5-1-1 to the UNDER in their past seven road games, 4-0-1 to the UNDER versus teams coming off a 100-plus point game. Take the UNDER.
