Defending Sun Belt Conference champion Troy can score. The Trojans put up 103 points on Kent State in a 103-97 victory in their opener. They also put up 121 points against Pensacola Christian, a Division II school. Cooper Campbell tops the Trojans in scoring at 16.5 points on 61.1 percent shooting from the floor. Troy can hurt Cal State Northridge in transition. But the Matadors have an advantage on the glass and a stronger physical inside presence. This contrast should cause a higher-scoring game than the oddsmaker anticipates. The Trojans won't be able to pack in their defense either because they have to watch the outside shooting of Larry Hughes. He has emerged as the Matadors' leading scorer through four games this season. Hughes is averaging 18.8 points per game while shooting 54.2 percent from the floor. Hughes has made 16-of-31 from long range for a 51.6 3-point shooting percentage. The Matadors won't be holding anything back either as they don't play for another nine days. Take the OVER.
