Welcome, former Arizona and Xavier coach Sean Miller, to Texas, where your first task is to take on Duke in the Dick Vitale Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. The Blue Devils lost superstar forward Cooper Flagg to the Dallas Mavericks, but have back guards Isaiah Evans and Evan Foster, and forwards Maliq Brown and Patrick Ngongba II, all of whom were core players. Duke also had the nation’s top recruiting class, headlined by five-star forward Cameron Boozer. That is plenty of offensive punch. Texas is not without talent. Miller can rely on guards Tramon Mark, Jordan Pope, and Chendall Weaver, as well as forward Nic Codie. Boozer could make his mark early as both of Texas's big men, Matas Vokietaitis and Lassina Traore, battled offseason injuries. Boozer is reportedly so talented that he could be the first overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft. Miller will have the Longhorns looking to get out in transition for fast-break points to offset Duke's talent edge with a fast-tempo attack. Take the OVER.
