South Dakota goes from opening against Utah Tech to playing 23rd-ranked Creighton. And the Coyotes lost to Utah Tech, 81-79, in overtime. South Dakota should shoot better than it did in that game now that it has shaken off the rust. The Coyotes have the Summit League's top returning scorer in Isaac Bruns. He scored 23 points against Utah Tech. South Dakota won't have to worry about Ryan Kalkbrenner, the four-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year. He has departed Creighton. The Bluejays, though, loaded up on the transfer portal. Among their new additions are Nik Graves from Charlotte and Iowa transfers Josh Dix and Owen Freeman. Graves led Charlotte in scoring at 17.5 ppg last season. Freeman averaged 16.7 points, and Dix is on the preseason watchlist for the Jerry West Award, given to the nation's top shooting guard. He shot at least 42 percent from 3-point range in each of the last two seasons with Iowa. The total went OVER in six of Creighton’s last seven games last season. South Dakota averaged 81.6 points on the road last season, while surrendering an average of 89.5 points per game in its away matchups. Take the OVER.
