LOSS

Lamont Smith is doing a good job in his third year at the helm at San Diego as he rebuilds the basketball program and currently the Toreros own a 11-3 record and have won six of their last seven, including Saturday's 74-66 win over Pepperdine. Oiln Carter III scored a team-leading 27 points and Isaiah Wright added 13 points and six rebounds and the Waves were held to a .348 field goal percentage. San Diego is holding opponents to a tiny .371 shooting percentage on the season and just 62.4 points per game. Most importantly, the Toreros hold opponents to just 24.5 percent from 3-point range, which doesn't bode well for Portland as it relies heavily from long distance shooting. The Pilots come off two blowout losses to BYU and San Francisco in which they made only 36 of 112 shots. Portland is 1-8 ATS its last nine home games. Take San Diego.
