Coach Dave Leitao is rebuilding this program and has a lot of young talent to help improve on a 9-22 season in 2015-16. Rutgers defeated Drexel 87-66 with Jonathan Laurent and Nigel Johnson scoring 15 points each and DeShawn Freeman adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Scarlet Knights have a new coach in Steve Pikiell and he has a big job ahead of him as the Knights struggled last year and finished 7-25.
