California is off to a 7-1 start with its only loss coming on the road to Kansas State, 99-96. But the Pacific is being overlooked here with the Golden Bears laying too many points. Pacific is off to its best start at 7-2 through nine games since 2013-14. The Tigers are riding a four-game winning and covering streak. All four of these victories have come by double digits, the first time that has happened since 2002-03. Senior Elias Ralph, a West Coast Conference Preseason All-Conference Team selection, leads the Tigers with team-highs of 18.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. Ralph and the Tigers' outstanding defense make them a tough out here. The Tigers rank second in the WCC and 24th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 65.0 points per game. Pacific is also second in the league and top-40 in the country in defensive rebounding, averaging 28.8 per game. Cal gives up an average of five more points per game than Pacific. Take Pacific.
