Nebraska Omaha at Iowa State

A big let down spot for Iowa State, a good team off a rivalry showdown with Iowa and a tough 80-71 loss. They led at the half and blew a 10-point lead in the first half. All that was just two nights ago on Friday, so this is a quick turn-around. Nebraska-Omaha  has had a tough schedule, battling a pair of Big 10 teams and a Big 12 opponent (Texas Tech). They are on a ten game road trip but have had four full days off to rest and prepare. Nebraska-Omaha can shoot the three-pointer behind junior guard Alex Phillips (.429% from beyond the arc) and junior guard Justin Simmons. That was a problem for Iowa State two games ago against Florida Gulf Coast (who nailed nine of 24 threes) and in their loss to UNLV (allowing 40% from long range). The Mavericks are led by head coach Derrin Hansen, who is in his eighth year at the helm of the Nebraska Omaha program with a career record of 123-94, so look for the visitors to take this game more serious than the tired home team.
