Merrimack at Fairfield

Merrimack is in a 3-way race for the Metro Atlantic Conference regular season title. Three teams sit at 7-1 entering play today, and Merrimack will head to Fairfield to take on the Stags. The Stags are 8-11 on the season, and 4-4 in conference play. There is one glaring stat that I think is going to determine this game. Merrimack has a very strong defense as the Warriors have limited opponents to 41% shooting and 30% from deep. The Stags are a poor defensive team as opponents are shooting a sizzling 48% against them, and 37% from beyond the arc. That's too much to overcome and I will back Merrimack in this one.
