Maryland at Temple

Maryland is one of those ACC teams that get too much respect from bettors; mainly when they travel.  They are 5-6-1 on the season ATS (2-4 away).  They play a Temple team who is always tough and plays "in your face" defense the whole game.  Temple is 11-6 ATS overall and 6-2 ATS at home this year.  Maryland is giving up 78ppg on the road this year, and slightly more than that in their last 5.  They try to rely on a faster paced game, with lots of scoring, forced turnovers and fast breaks to outlast some opponents.  That will hardly be the case when they travel to Philly and face Temple.  A basketball program like temple, who is at home, will force away teams to play the style of basketball that they enjoy; low scoring, slow paced, defensive struggle.  Temple is letting up less than 60ppg at home this year!  Along with great defense from Temple, realize that Marylands guard Chris McCray was suspended earlier this week for academics; losing 15ppg, almost 4 boards and 4 assists.  Look for Maryland to have a true test as they travel north to Pennsylvania without McCray and lose this one.  Take the point and the home Temple team for three stars.
