Maybe some hoped for a different matchup for the final, but it would be difficult to argue that these aren't the top two teams in the country. Kansas jumped all over North Carolina and Memphis controlled the game against UCLA at both ends. The one thing that no one has noticed about Memphis is that they have scored on every big team they have played all season. UCLA was considered the top defensive team in the country holding opponents in the 50s, but Memphis got 78. Georgetown led the nation in FG percentage defense at 36.6%, but Memphis torched them for 85 points. Mississippi State at was ranked No. 2 and they stung them for 77. UConn and all their shot blocking was ranked No. 8, and they got 81. At No. 18 Gonzaga at gave up 81 to Memphis. Texas at No. 12 gave up 85 points and No. 26 Michigan State gave up 92. That is seven of the top defenses in the country and Memphis has averaged 82.7 points per game and has scored no less than 77! Kansas has gone for over 80 points in 21 games themselves this season and after watching them push it against North Carolina who everyone thought was the best at it and beating them at that game, they certainly aren't going to shy away from running with Memphis either. It also must be noted that 11 of the past 15 Championship games have produced more points than this total and nine of the past 11. This should be an up and down game, and the one thing that these teams have proven is that neither has been stopped from running and getting out in transition, and we expect both teams to have success again. We will play OVER here.
