Illinois at Maryland

Maryland is enduring a rough season, going 11-19, including just 4-15 in the Big Ten Conference. Now the Terrapins have to take on 11th-ranked Illinois, which is 23-7 and 14-5 in the Big Ten. The Illini rolled past Maryland, 89-70, at home on Jan. 21. However, Illinois did not cover the spread in that game. It was the seventh time in the last 10 meetings that the Terrapins have covered against the Illini. Look for them to do it here, too, on Senior Day. Below the radar screen, Andre Mills is developing into a really good guard for Maryland, averaging 18.2 points per game during his last 10 games. The Terrapins are 5-3 ATS in their last eight games. Illinois is 3-4 ATS in its last seven games. Illinois plays at a slow pace, ranking 291st in total possessions per game. That is not conducive to covering a large point spread on the road.
