San Diego is out to do better than its 6-27 record from last season. And the Toreros are going to try to do this by having nearly an entirely new roster with a fast-paced transition offense. San Diego began the season ranked No. 21 in KenPom's metric for adjusted tempo, the quickest of any team in the West Coast Conference. San Diego opened its season 1-1, producing an 88-59 victory over Occidental College, a Division III school, and falling to Idaho State, 71-68. Idaho is off to a 2-0 start, looking good offensively. The Vandals beat Washington State, 83-81, on the road, and rolled past Whitman College, a Division III school, 94-49 at home five days ago. Freshman Jackson Rasmussen has been impressive in the early going for Idaho. He is averaging 15.5 points per game. That is the highest scoring average by a freshman in the Big Sky Conference so far. Take the OVER.
