East Carolina at Richmond

It is no secret that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to Richmond coach Chris Mooney. His Princeton roots are a signature to what we have seen at Richmond. He has instituted a variation of the Princeton offense, and spreads the floor, and shortens games. The Spiders scored just 52 ppg last year, and things will not change this year. E. Carolina will bring in a team that finished dead last in C-USA in FT percentage, and 297th in the country. They managed a pathetic 39.5% FG shooting percentage. The one dependable scorer they had was Corey Rouse, who had 17 double doubles a year ago. The one thing they did well was defend, holding opponents to 43% shooting. This one has slow and ugly written all over it, and some recent trends are in support. Richmond has gone under in 9 of last 10 non-conference games, and E. Carolina has gone under in 16 of last 21 as a road dog.
