Just the memories of the Panthers three-year domination of the Horizon remain along with a few upsets in the NCAA Tournament as well. This team has fallen fast and hard. Coach Rob Jeter lost five players before the start of practice last fall and the rebuilding process is now underway. The Panthers lose their best player and this team will be green, and will need time to develop. Finding consistent scoring and rebounding will be season-long issues. The Titans went through some problems themselves a year ago when star Brandon Cotton left the team. New coach Ray McCallum went the JUCO route and it has paid off as the top two scorers on the Titans are JUCO transfers Xavier Keeling and Thomas Kennedy. He also brought in a third in 7-3 Jason Bennett (eight blocks). The Titans will certainly be better than the seven-win team from a year ago and have played above the line covering their last three. I expect the fourth tonight.
