WIN

Cal State Northridge produced a 20-win season last year and appears ready to take the leap into the No. 1 position in the Big West. The Matadors have three returning double-digit scorers for a team that all are producing at least nine points a game. They also add Pepperdine transfer, Willie Gallick, who has come over to add a fourth scorer and is averaging over 10 points per game. The Matadors have a lot of firepower and depth as they are rotating 10 players and not dropping off. They have played all their Div-1 games on the road, so the numbers should immediately increase here. The Pioneers are off to a dismal start at 1-5, but did record their sole win their last time out which should give them a boost here. Shooting has not been a problem for Denver with four of the top five scorers connecting on 46%+, and three of the top five connecting at 41% or higher from deep. They will get their points, but have done a poor job defending. Denver’s lack of defense opens the gates for a competent CS Northridge team that is finally playing at home to ramp up the offense as they have played six of their last eight OVER as it is. I like this one to go OVER the posted total.
