Oklahoma State won last year's meeting 65-51 and it brings back two of its best players in Bryce Thompson and John-Michael Wright, but the Cowboys need to bounce back from their season-opening loss to Abilene Christian on Monday. Oklahoma State shot only 22 percent on 3-pointers and Thompson was its leading scorer with 19 points. Sam Houston State returns only one starter in what is assumed to be a rebuilding year. The Bearkats did get a win against Pacific before losing to Utah Valley 79-73 in overtime. The Wolverines shot 53 percent, but mostly inside as they hit just three 3-pointers.
