The Michigan St. Spartans are ranked #12 in the country in the latest AP Poll. This could easily become a trap game for Michigan St., which is 13-2 on the season. Northwestern is 8-6 on the season and does have wins over DePaul and South Carolina. The Spartans have not been a good point spread team, especially lately. Michigan State is just 2-4-1 ATS in its last seven games. Northwestern is 4-2 ATS following a home game this season. Looking at this game just by name would tell you Michigan St. should roll Northwestern at home. This isn't one of those years however. The Wildcats are 20-9 on the season. The Wildcats have impressive wins vs. ranked teams in Illinois, and Dayton, and have also beaten Purdue at home, and lost to them on the road in overtime. Michigan St. is playing themselves out of the NCAA Tournament as the Spatans have suffered three straight losses. The Spartans are now 17-12 and have work to do, but this is a very good Northwestern team, that has proven it can play with anyone, including on the road. Too many points here. Make the play on Northwestern.
