Jackson State Tigers vs San Diego Toreros Point Spread Picks

San Diego coach Steve Lavin, the former UCLA mentor, is anxious to start the season with nine talented freshmen on the roster. The Toreros tried to do it with transfers last season, but finished 11-20 so they're going with more recruting talent this time around. Jackson State already has a game under its belt, but the Tigers were routed 94-77 by Memphis, which shot 50.7 percent. Jackson State has all five starters back from last year's 14-19 squad, which was not an offensive juggernaut, hitting only 41.9 percent overall and 31.8 from 3-point range while averaging only 67.6 points per game. The Tigers were only 10 of 29 from beyond the arc against Memphis. The Toreros obviously have a motivated young squad trying to impress, and they outscored Sonoma State 44-28 in the second half to win 68-64 on Monday. Take San Diego to nab a home win.
