The Big Ten might be the most overrated conference in recent history with Michigan the only survivor heading into the Sweet Sixteen. That doesn't bode well for the Wolverines, who lost three of their last five against Big Ten schools before beating Texas Southern and LSU last weekend. The Wolverines had to shoot 53.8% to get by LSU on Monday, and they're unlikely to come close to that against Florida State, which allows opponents just a .393 field goal percentage. The Seminoles destroyed Colorado, 71-53, as Anthony Polite scored a career-high 22 points and the team shot 52.2% while holding the Buffaloes to only 35.7%. Florida State is 21-7-1 ATS its past 29 neutral-site games as an underdog, and the Atlantic Coast Conference might still be on par with the Big Ten after all. Play Florida State.

The best conferences coming into the Big Dance were considered to be the ACC and the Big-10. So it is fitting that those two conferences have five of the eight teams that remain with a chance to cut down the nets. Both Florida State and Michigan have gotten hot at the same time. Prior to entering the tournament, Florida State had not covered a game since February 3, but have been a perfect 3-0 ATS in the dance. Michigan got here with some very extreme shooting, connecting on 62% against Texas A&M. I don't expect to see that tonight, and the one big blemish for the Wolverines that hasn't come back to bite them yet is that they are a horrible free-throw shooting team.
